Summary 0000150: File -> export/import irritations
Description 2.29i 3.3.8 WinXPPro

I frequently export things (usually mails with badly formed headers or unnamed attachments) so that I can tidy those aspects up (using a program that renames attachments with incrementing names), then I re-import them. Two things regularly annoy me doing this:

a) that one can select File->Export from within a group viewer or
All-Groups, but you can't File->Import from within a group viewer
   - you have to find the All-Groups File menu.

It might just be useful to be able to do a File->Export
(and Import) when viewing a single message too.

b) Gemini doesn't seem to remember the last-used target
folder for an export/import operation. I only ever use
one place, but it might be useful if it could remember
   the last few such folders.

It would also be useful if Gemini had an option to ask
the host os to open a specific folder, perhaps with a
definable program - windowsexplorer suits me though.

Otherwise the process is export stuff, move gemini's
windows aside, navigate to the export target (even if
you have a shortcut you still have to follow it),
fiddle with the file, find gemini's all-groups window
and define the import, check it worked ok, go back to
the export target folder and delete the work file(s),
and then get on with doing things with the fixed mail.
It gets tedious after a while!

I have a feeling that somewhere you said this wasn't possible. But I was reading a Windows API textbook a week or two ago and - at least at the API level - it IS possible to specify a path at which a OpenFile or SaveAs dialog opens...

It looks like it does remember the last folder used in all but one case, which I presume is what you're encountering. This particular bug is fixed in v2.63.7.
