| Summary | 0000217: MP 2.63.6 columnar data 'gutter' problem | |||||||||||
| Description |
MP 2.63.6.3212 Qt 4.6.2 Win XP Pro (As discussed in private 'progress' emails, Jan-Feb 2009.) When you fixed bug 99 (alignment of some columnar data) it was a great improvement, except for when one ends up with two adjacent columns in a display being, say, (reading left to right) right-aligned and left-aligned. No matter how wide you then drag a column you can't (of course) get a 'gutter' between the values in the two columns. Here I 'fix' it by placing some of the status flag columns (which are narrow) between the columns I really want. It'd be better though if aligned text had a few blank pixels inserted at the left or right side. Or, if as well as the data-carrying columns in a display one could insert any number of padding gutters in the column layout. So instead of having, say, ... Sent From ... I tend to have ... Sent Replied From ... but would rather be able to have ... Sent Gutter From ... and of course I could then set the gutter columns very narrow. |
